If you could describe the girl-next-door she would be the perfect combination of sweet and sassy. Girls want to be her friend and men want to date her. She is beautiful, kind and spunky. Once you meet her you can never forget her. Skylar Witte is that girl. If the girl-next-door also happens to be smokin’ hot!
A model and aspiring actress in Chicago, Witte has been a working model since her first shoot which was a national campaign for Vienna Prom, a Dallas-based designer. That first job landed her two features on Seventeen.com, the widest circulated teen magazine in the United States. Since then Skylar has been working with Midwest photographers, designers, entertainment professionals and magazines building her brand.
Aspiring to break into acting Skylar has been building a strong reel using her access to student film makers in the Midwest. At 19 she is already becoming known in the Chicago market as a strong lead and flexible actress. While acting is her end goal for now Ms. Witte is making her mark as a working print model.
Recently she was selected from thousands of models for a nationwide casting call to represent Mac Duggal, a Chicago-based gown designer. Apart from her modeling career Skylar is a full-time, dean’s list college student who hopes to someday pursue a law degree. She is a self-described nerd and is proud of her academic accomplishments. Her first course in school lead to working at her state capitol budget office, so it’s no surprise this brainiac is also versatile in front of the camera. Her roles have ranged from a sweet teenager to a street smart drug addict. And along with modeling for multiple prom lines she has also done work, like this recent shoot, that shows her edgier side. Her versatility makes her a casting director’s dream. One look at her online portfolio shows that this girl can do it all.
Skylar primarily shoots with Chicago-based photographers, this Calvin Klein fashion series was done by Studio 710, a new studio located in North Chicago primarily focused on fashion and portfolio photography. Her favorite shoot location is anywhere downtown. Her favorite series so far stopped traffic on Michigan Avenue.
In her free time, which isn’t a lot, Skylar also has a blog in which she shares advice to other young aspiring models. Her website 40k views in just less than two months and is followed by people from 23 different countries. She writes about everything from modeling to her fitness routine.
She recently completed her first short film and starred in her first music video. Aside from commercial modeling and acting she also had the opportunity to represent brands as a promotional model and brand ambassador. As if all of that is not enough to fill her time, Skylar has a life goal to someday become Miss USA. When she was 18 years old she was 1st runner-up to the title of Miss Wisconsin Teen USA and hopes once her life settles into some sort of manageable pattern she can continue the pursuit of this dream.
Skylar loves working with up-and-coming professionals in the fashion and entertainment industry. She does runway shows for many young designers and enjoys working with new filmmakers. Skylar is also open to taking on new creative adventures and collaborate with others looking to do the same.
